Rabbi Akiba could be considered the sole individual responsible for starting the events that caused the rift between ancient Judaism and Christianity.This book focuses on the history of the Bar Kokhba Revolt that took place between 132 - 136 A.D. The significance of this major historical event should not be trivialized. Prophesied in scripture, Rabbi Akiba was considered a false prophet, and Simon Bar Kokhba a false messiah. Sadly, the words and teachings of Akiba have been the basis for some of rabbinic Judaism today.
